Tax Accountant
Location: Los Angeles
Perform corporate tax and profitability analysis and global consolidation of financials from clients’ operations worldwide, using Advanced Excel (Pivot table, V-lookup, Sum-if, What-if Analysis); Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, business controls, and system improvements in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS guidelines and Internal Revenue Code (IRC); Prepare tax filings based on Federal and state income tax rules and regulations for C/S corporation, shareholders, partnership, trust and estate entities using CCH ProSystem fx and Intuit Lacerte; Draft and review Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings (proxy statements, Forms 8-K, registration statements) by coordinating with independent auditors to prepare for external and regulatory audits; Dodd-Frank Act, FinCEN, Plain English Initiative; Recommend appropriate budget levels and and expenditure control upon analysis of nonprofit entities, calculate losses & taxation for nonprofit organizations; Analyze forensic accounting tax documents using Consulting Services (CS) section 100 and Valuation Services (VS) Section 100.
Must have a Master’s Degree in Accounting or Tax Accounting + skills and knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, SEC filing/Dodd-Frank, Advanced Excel (Pivot table, V-lookup, Sum-if, What-if Analysis), forensic accounting, C/S corporations and shareholder tax, Nonprofit/tax exempt.
