Bernstein & Pinchuk LLP Expands to West Coast

We are very pleased to announce that Bernstein & Pinchuk LLP (“BP”), which provides tax and accounting services to high net worth individuals and small and mid-market businesses with a particular focus on China, has expanded to the West to merge with two existing firms, ACCellence LLP and Henry I. Somerfeld CPA.

This expansion positions our firm to better serve the growing community of wealthy individuals and small to mid-market businesses that have strong connections to China who are either based in, or making investments in the West Coast. The merger also significantly strengthens the firm’s position servicing clients in the entertainment industry, including movies, television, music, and talent management.

We’ve seen an influx of high net worth individuals, smaller and family-owned businesses with operations or assets on the West Coast, many of them with strong ties to Asia. Having a strong local presence will enable us to efficiently service their accounting, audit, tax, and business consulting needs. This merger also brings us strong expertise and client relationships in the entertainment industry, which is an increasingly active area of cross-border collaboration and investment.”

Our LA office will provide a range of services suited to the needs of smaller and mid-market companies, entrepreneurs, families and LGBT communities, including tax preparation, international tax strategy, accounting, audit & assurance, estate planning, business advisory, business management, EB-5 support, and real estate transactions and consulting services, with Chinese-English bilingual support. Leading the West Coast office will be two senior level Partners, Henry Somerfeld and Winston Yen. We are thrilled to be able to have such high caliber and seasoned accountants heading up BP’s West Coast operations. Our firm has known and worked with Winston and Henry for many years and has been consistently impressed with their technical tax and accounting knowledge and skills, business experience, and integrity.

Henry I. Somerfeld, CPA, was founded by Henry Somerfeld and services small to medium sized businesses and professionals, as well as clients in the entertainment industry. It provides outsourced CFO/ financial management services, along with tax planning and compliance, estate planning support, and other accounting services. Mr. Somerfeld graduated from the University of Miami, Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Juris Doctor degree.

Founded by Winston Yen, ACCellence LLP has an existing client base from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, as well as U.S. citizens with strong ties to China. Winston has held a number of senior positions in major regional firms in the public accounting industry and has served as a CFO of an NYSE listed public company. Mr. Yen graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a Master of Accounting Science degree.
